Hootin' Anni's
Thursday
Theme Song
Here's another one for Anni (with a few little twists from Canada's wild west, plus a vocal from our favorite TV show). I intended to use Gene Autry, I really did, Anni, but sometimes, honestly, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

is big and bright
Deep in the heart of Cactus.

is wide and high
Deep in the heart of Cactus.
The coyotes wail
along the trail
Deep in the heart of Cactus.

Reminds me of

The rabbits rush
around the brush
Deep in the heart of Cactus.

Before I watched the video I knew which song it was because of the “deep in the heart…” I like your variation.
Ha! Love it! And the photos are great!
love the photos
and the take on the song
now I have to stop clapping my hands to the beat :)
I love your version! And the blooms are pretty, can't wait for the wildflower season to come. Yet I do not have high expectations, we do not have enough rainfall.
This is so much fun, Kay and I love the photos!
I love your version of the song Kay and all those gorgeous cactus blooms. Great choice for the video too, glad you did what you had to do.
Incredible images...that moon...oh that moon. And the sweet, wonderful shade of the cactus yellow.
Love this song to by the way. Your renditions and play on words always just blow me away.
You have writing talents; should be a lyricist.
Mine this week is:
'LADY' in RED
Have a wonderful day, and as always, thanks for working diligently on entertaining us with your talents.
I love your version of the song. You are quite good at adapting the song lyrics. I love it.
My son has always liked changing lines of songs as he sings along, something he has done since he was a child. It is funny at times.
Your photo choices were really wonderful. The cactus flowers are beautiful and the full moon amazing.
Great Job!!
Hilarious and if everyone just knew how true to life Big Bang Theory.
I worked in the Physics department for 25 years...it is amazing how many character traits I see repeated on BBT.

Cactus flowers are so delicate despite the tough, prickly plant. I remember going to a Mexican restaurant when I was a little kid. Out front they had Prickly Pear cactus in a long planter against the wall. When we came out after dinner I guess I saw the bright red fruit, reached out and got a hand full of spines. You would think I would have learned my lesson. While camping with my ex in Baja, one night I went out behind a bush to take care of business. I felt something tickle my foot. I had visions of a scorpion so I kicked it out. It wasn't a scorpion, but still had a bad sting. It was a piece cholla cactus lying on the ground. I successfully embedded it on the side of my food over the top of my sandal strap. Good thing I moved up north away from all those dangerous cacti. - Margy
