To buy a fat hog,
Home again, home again, jiggity-jog!
No, we didn't really intend to buy livestock at the Ecuadorian country markets after our trip to the Galapagos Islands some years ago, but if we had wanted any, it would have been easy to find. However, we went back to our Quito hotel (above) without buying a pig in a poke.
This little pig went to market...

Well, I like roasted pork - but the capturing and preparing that meal is best left to the professionals!
You have some good reportage shots from Ecuador.
Regards and best wishes
I'd like to have a pet pig :)
your hotel looks like it was really lovely
the grass is so green
Oh my, Kay:) very clever and apt. I live just off a main road called Delville Farm Road. If I travel a few hundred meters down it, I can go and choose my pig and have it er, slaughtered right there! Sorry I've been so absent, but I 've had neverending Internet problems. Hopefully it's a thing of the past now. Big hugs for you and Dick and a head scratch for dear Lindy. Blessings, Jo
I like the shot of the black hog lying there like someone's pet Labrador Retriever. Also, the hotel looks very charming.
Fun, great shadow shots for the day! It does look like a charming hotel and who could not like the black hog!! I agree with Pat!! Enjoy your weekend, Kay!

Gosh I may give up pork!! Boom & gary of the Vermilon River.
pigs can be very cute...
And I have to respond with "to market, to market to buy a fat pig. Home again, home again, jiggidy jig!"
How funny that they're on leashes!
This looks like a really fun trip. So colorful and lively.
Such interesting views of a market in Ecuador! And the little pig and his shadows are adorable!
great shots, what fun pictures and now I can't get this little piggie out of my head...thank you for the smile
What a lovely hotel!
I love that saying, reminds me of when my daughter was young. :)
It is so cool to visit a real market like that. But a little hard to prepare livestock off the hoof in a hotel room ;>) (And I love the nursery rhyme -- brings back soooo many memories!)
These are so cute!!!
I love them.
Cheers from Cottage Country!
interesting photos, great reminders of your trip
I'm smiling from ear to ear!! Need I say more?
And I Love the word free Blog by the way--it is almost impossible on some Blogs for me to comment!

The third shot brings a relaxing mood. I love that pig shot on the last.
Thanks for contributing art to shadow shots!

Great pig and its shadows presentation.
The photos of the live pigs are precious!

Love your post, very funny, and interesting shadow shots.
Did you have pigs in a blanket for happy hour? - Margy
Pigs on a leash....interesting. I can't say that I have ever seen that. I can remember when I was a kid having to chase the little pigs when they would get out of the pen. They were a challenge to catch, that is for sure.
Interesting travels you have had!
A fun post. Ever tried to catch a greasy pig?
What a neat visit to the market. I love seeing the hogs and pigs and would feel sorry for them. The hotel does look lovely. Thanks for sharing, have a Happy Sunday!
Very curious images... Never thought of visiting Ecuador. Oh well, they have the Galapagos, which must be stunning!
God bless you!

Now why do I feel like one of these would have been a cool pet, lol?
Sorry, just kidding!
Great shots and shadows from Ecuador!
