T is for tortoise, and for Tilley Hat

Galapagos Tortoises in the wild. They're big, and they're beautiful.

Oh, what an impressive looking creature. Hats off to you, Kay, for thinking of this very large “tortoise” for ABC Wednesday! You posted about a tortoise while I posted about a turtle. Happily, both begin with the letter “t”. :)

That giant tortoise jogged my memory banks of Honolulu Zoo and visiting it as a child. The tortoise is the one that I most vividly remember.

That looks quite a size, what a magical experience. Wonder how long it has been trundling around the Galapagos. I've only ever seen them in the wild in Greece, at first it was quite surreal as I wasn't expecting it, fascinating creatures.

I had a tortoise pet as a kid, but nothing like that. Mine was named Pansy because every time she passed the bed of pansies she couldn't resist a bite. - Margy

I toyed with the idea of using 'turtle' for my letter T, but I haven't seen any on this trip to Hawaii.
