Reflections, Critters, Shadows, in my corner

In my favorite corner of the house, there are many reflections, shadows and some camera critters, too. See the little white cat? He's looking down at his twin, who is on a table below, just past the desk chair. See what looks like the tip of a tail above the old mirror on the antique desk? It's a dolphin mirror, whose shadow can be seen on the left of the framed sketch. The old desk mirror is reflected on the side of the books, and the crystal dish reflects in the bottom corner of the sketch, just below the cat's shadow. The sketch is called "Pickup with Dog" by the artist, but my friend Judith, who gave it to me 40 years ago, calls it "Dog and Truck" and so do I. You can see part of a house across the street, reflected through the window there, too.

Animal art is what a fun home should have, at least in one corner. Our animal prints and various knickknack in our abode is primarily ducks and bunnies in crystal, ceramic or just framed. We have Linus who portrays a sleeping cat quite well - performing art? A living room ought to look as if it has been lived in, no??

It was nice to read this as I really have an appreciation for photos that have within them reflections.

What a sweet composition! It looks like the dog is looking at the cat while the cat is looking down at said twin.

Such a clever shot! I prefer the name "dog and truck" I think. The white cat is gorgeous - what does it twin look like? Does s/he look up?? In England I bought some wooden cats in similar poses as your white one, they used to live in my bookshelves and play "hiden and seek" - sort of.

Lots of fun reflections, Kay! No reflections over here. Cloudy and drizzly today.

I love reflection shadows- like taking a peek through Alice's looking glass.

That shadowy white cat looks ready and willing to pounce on some hapless creature!

SHADOWY DELIGHT

Shadows above me, shadows below,
Shadows beside me, wherever I go;

Shadows each morning, shadows at night—
Shadows, O shadows, you’re my delight!

I really like the sketch, it really evokes some early childhood memories. It could easily be my dad's truck and my dog Snowball.

Great shadows and reflections in your shot.
