P is for Pelicans around the world

Pelicans just standing around, Cancun, Mexico.
Clearwater, Florida, pelicans having a chat with me.
Key West, Florida
Pelican on a panga from the yacht Letty, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador.
Dick's best pelican photo so far. When it's enlarged, all the feathers can be seen!
All photos by Richard Schear
Pelican at the San Diego Wild Animal Park, now called San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
Although we have white pelicans here in Alberta, I don't have any photos of them.

I love the pelicans - they look so comical. The only place you can see them round here is in the zoo x

Beautiful photos of an interesting bird. There are so many legends about pelicans. Dick's photo is brilliant indeed! I saw also pelicans in Cairns!
Thanks for sharing.

The pelican, the pelican, the pelican-his beak can hold more than his belly can!

I love the one that Dick took-fabulous details, for sure in the feathers.

I'd love to see a pelican but haven't yet. We must have them around here on the We(s)t Coast! Have a phenomenal week, Kay!

Oh, the Pelican, - they always remind me of long nosed professors, and I feel they should be wearing a pince nez.

This pole is mine, I have my name rubber stamped n it.

I like how birds like to perch on the poles.

Wow … it looks as if pelicans are as common as seagulls in some places. That really is a great shot of the one where the feathers can actually be seen. I think I’ve seen the pink ones behind the window on people’s lawns from time to time. :)

A Plethora of Pekicans for a Perfectly Pleasant P Post, Kay! And I must say that the pelicans I saw and captured in Florida a few summers ago where nowhere as healthy looking as any of these (especially the pink ones in the window... LOL!).

They are strange, but fascinating, birds. Love the last photo, it shows its beak to perfection.

Great shots. Pelicans in Alberta? I didn't know.
The first one I saw in Panama. On the Australian coast are many beautiful white Pelicans.

Such beautiful photos of such a beautiful bird. We have the brown pelican around here, but not too many years ago there were hardly any because of the DDT. We do also have an occasional white pelican.

I can't get over how near you got to those giant birds. This is so amazing!

A long time ago I went to the tip of Baja camping. I remember sitting on the shore watching pelicans gliding just over the water's surface. - Margy
