On their daily walks, Dick and Lindy stop often, when Dick sees photo opportunities. These shots, at the same place, were taken at different hours on different days. Not only are the shadows darker in the first one, they are also shorter. In the second shot, you can see there are fewer leaves left on the bushes.

These two photos were taken on different parts of the path, on different days and in different lighting conditions. In the photo above, Dick's shadow reaches over part of the coulee, across the path on the opposite side, and into the darker patch of brown grasses.
In the photo to the right, his shadow follows the path all the way until it bends to the right.
I don't know where his faithful canine companion was in these two shots. I think I'd better check into that!

Especially love the first two shadow shots of Lindy and Dick! Lindy seems to be patirently watching him as he photographs! And the long shadows in the other shadows are almost suggesting that Dick is on stilts!
I would nearly say perhaps she was taking the photos, but that would require her to be in the photo as well!
Great shots.
Great shots, I love how different the shadows look each time.
Fun shadow shots for the day! Dick does indeed look TALL and then there's patient Lindy! Hope all of you are having a great weekend, Kay!

Oh, the shadowy walkers! I think I could write a poem about them! (On another day, of course.)
SHADOW, WILL YOU?
Shadow, will you always be
Here where I can always see
What you do and how you play?
Or will you just slip away?

Lindy and your hubby in shadow seem to enjoy their time in walking together. We think the shadow may be less expressive than the individuals - however, I see a lively pair, with Lindy following dutifully a pace behind. My but the shadow hunter is quite tall!
What interesting variation of shadows.
Dick's first and second shots remind me of a Pissarro painting. Nicely done. I love how your hubby contributes to your blog too.
Thanks for all your encouraging comments the last week or so. I fell behind in my blogging life & haven't been around much. It was especially nice to see such kind words when I was feeling like I couldn't keep up with daily life stuff!
: )
You're so lucky you've got Dick taking photos for you. I see Lindy is helping too.
Love the long shadows. Interesting background! Have a great day.
How enjoyable. I loved going on a walk with Ms. Lindy. Looks like a terrific, chilly but comfortable Fall day.
Off the Pier...shadows is my link, if you'd care to view.
Have a great day.
Very cool. Sometimes I take photos of my own shadow too. So... where was Miss Lindy in those last two shots, hmmmm? I think it's a grand mystery you must create a story about! :-)
Happy early walk! Isn't it amazing with the shadows when we're chasing?
U look soooo tall §:-)
Happy SSS...

I suppose we never think of our shadow shots as measurements of time, but your examples clearly demonstrate time in the sense of the movement and rotation of the sun.
wonderful captures....love how you can't see the figure making the shadow...
Love the way you've captured the shadows in different lights and days!
Hope all is well and you've had a wonderful weekend Kay!
fun shots!
That's the way to get taller hehehe.
I have George's shadow. Please come and see when you get a chance.
Lindy knows when it's photo taking time, I see.
I like how the shadows changed on different days.
Have a fun week seeking shadows!
