Musical prompt: Bing, Bowie, peace

Marian's musical prompt this weekend at the Imaginary Garden with Real Toads features a beautiful duet with Bing Crosby and David Bowie singing about that elusive dream, that illusive thought: Peace on Earth.

I can only respond to the prompt in the simplest of words and phrases, so that my words might reach out across all boundaries, to reach all peoples.

will there be
can there be
peace for you
peace for me?
will we see
an end to war
when poverty
will kill no more?

photos of starving children
should end gluttony

photos of happy children
should make us all smile

will there be
can there be
will we see
an end to hate?
not bigotry?

Optimism can wear a bit thin at times, can't it?
We know there 'can', and there 'should', but are no longer that hopeful of there 'will' be.
Nicely threaded syntax to express your wish.

Such heavy, important statements and questions, Kay.

How befitting the spiral of ribbon is for your words.

Beautiful post. :)

Beautifully written Kay!

It's an ever searching question, Kay! Long sought for answers but not given to serious thoughts of political will. As long as nations vie for power political and economics it'll be that long peace shies away! Nicely!

Questions posed earnestly, honestly. Answers? Yes! Of course! They start within me. They start within you. And they glow and they grow, change the world. We are powerful!

This is so beautiful and poignant, Kay. It should be put into a holiday card to remind everybody what we should be striving for.
