Pet Pride: non-verbal communication

Lindy knows she isn't to bark in the house, unless she is telling us she wants to go outside, but she gets very excited when someone comes in the door, especially her daddy, so she finds one of her squeaky toys (this one is a bunny rabbit) and lets it make the noise for her! It's such fun to be greeted by a dog trick instead of by a lot of barking, and it makes Lindy very happy.

This is Lindy's newest toy. We call it Biggy Piggy because she has a little piggy toy the same size as the bunny in the top photo. Lindy will pick up Biggy Piggy to welcome us, or to welcome visitors, but it doesn't squeak, it grunts. Lindy seems to think this is very funny.

Posted for Pet Pride
which is hosted by Lindy's friend Bozo and his family in Mumbai, India.
Lindy asks, "Do you bark when your family comes home, Bozo?" and "Do you think some things are funny, Bozo?"

What a cute piggy toy ! That's nice that you don't bark for a yes or no, like some small dogs do !

I love your eyes Lindy, they look like they could get you what ever you want. I bark when someone comes to the door and my mum says I should learn a lesson from you.

Sweet pictures. And, having grown up with several dogs over the years, I understand what you mean about pet communication.
