When we visited the Galapagos Islands, we saw many Frigate Birds, and they were all peaceful, except for this one female, who must have had young nearby, because she swooped down on passengers from our yacht cruise. This is very unusual behavior to see on the Galapagos, although it is understandable for a mother protecting her offspring. She didn't actually touch anyone, but many were temporarily frightened.

An unusual happening is a bonus. It's good to have caught it on camera.I had on occasions seen such but with no camera in my hands. One has to be lucky

I think all birds are protective of their nest and youngins. Great captures. Have a wonderful weekend!
Lovely!
Good for mom Protecting her young :)
Wow, good thing you were ready for the moment and captured it.
My Critter post. Have a great weekend.
I can imagine that people were frightened when such a big bird is diving on you !
Ah, the Galapagos, this is a place that I want to visit too! Must be wonderful, apart from bird attacks... :)
God bless you!

@ Cezar — Really, this is a most unusual thing to see. The birds usually ignore the tourists. I once sought shade in a line of shrubs, and discovered nesting red-footed boobies on either side of me, quite happily letting me be there. Of course, their eggs hadn't hatched yet. We think the bird in the photos must have had a newly-hatched youngster nearby.

I was so afraid of Hitchcock's movie! But I love your shots!
I suspect on a cruise you'd think yourself fairly safe; great captures
