I always think of Vancouver, BC, as my home city. I was born nearby in New Westminster, and although I was raised in the Okanagan, we were back in the Vancouver area as soon as I finished high school, and my whole working life was in Vancouver or its suburbs.
Recently, when staying with my family in the 'burbs, I went into the city to do some visiting, and took these photos in the popular Kitsilano beachfront area.

Great shots of familiar places, Kay! Kitsilano is one of the sweetest areas in Vancouver with its tree-lined streets and beach areas. Smaller apartment buildings, trendy shops and older homes turned into suites are loaded with charm from another era. A great place to live and to visit. :)
Lovely pictures of Vancouver beaches, Kay, and the mountains in the distance. The sky line seems to change constantly.
Wonderful photos. We (if I can get well) are going to the beach in July. I really love the beach.

A fabulous city. I love how there are snow covered mountains and beaches together, almost. I remember the beautiful the scenic drive towards Whistler.

Beautiful, Kay. I sped to Vancouver after high school too - it was a smaller city then. I also lived there for some years when my kids were small, first in Kitsilano, such a beautiful area. It's still beautiful there, just so much bigger, and faster-paced.

We used to love visiting Vancouver and Victoria (when we lived in Oregon)....now, when we get back to the Northwest we never have time -- I regret that! Beautiful place, beautiful pix.
I used to visit Vancouver often--lived in Seattle for a while and then kept going back when I left the Pacific NW-- but haven't made it back for a long time. I sure miss it so it was lovely to see the photos. Used to stay at the Coast Plaza which I think was somewhere in the area of a couple of those pictures. Thanks for the lovely reminders.

Like you, I consider Vancouver one of my home towns. Terrific shots of oh so familiar scenes. You had that glorious weather that makes you forgive all the rain, Kay.
