For Real Toads: music challenge, Suzi Q

This week Marian's music challenge for the writers' group Imaginary Garden with Real Toads features bassist/vocalist Suzi Quatro, recognized as the first woman to break through the "girl singer" stereotype and gain worldwide validity as a true rock musician.
American-born, Susan Kay (Suzi) Quatro first gained fame in Britain.
BBC disc jockey David Jensen is quoted in Wikipedia as stating Quatro took rock music by the scruff of the neck and empowered women by becoming a major rock star. She would appear live on a bill full of males and very much hold her own. Playing a long-necked bass guitar and stomping the floor, her attitude was that (if she were taken on) she would take no prisoners. As a personality, she still endures. Her recorded music is memorable and will continue to endure.

a pioneer determined to break through
a pioneer who knew just what to do
—Suzi Q—

a pioneer who wowed ’em round the world
a pioneer who did “more than a girl”
—Suzi Q—

men thought they ruled the whole world of rock
til Suzy showed she was more than just talk
—Suzi Q—

a blonde with bass guitar and leather clothes
up there showing and sharing all she knows
—Suzi Q—

influencing, urging women to try:
take those instruments and reach for the sky
—Suzi Q—

an early suffragette of rock’n’roll
led all her sisters out to bare their souls

I love "a suffragette of rock'n'roll!" Add Joan Jett and Lita Ford too as being influenced by her.

Yes indeed ....this all made me smile.
Lovely. She was such a trail blazer in quite a few ways, wasn't she! :)

She sounds like a great artist, but sorry to say – I had not heard her name before. I rarely listen to rock anymore, just the real oldies.
