Not "far, far away" like our 2011 travels, but we have indeed been away. We flew to San Diego, where we stayed for a week, then cruised to Manzanillo, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas, visited San Jose Del Cabo, and cruised to Ensenada and back to San Diego.
Here are a few random shots of the zoo, the city, and Coronado Island.

I've been to that zoo. I wonder if that is the same gorilla as was there in 1976. He was very bored in captivity even then, so for his sake, I hope this is his grandson. Sounds like an awesome trip - and WARM weather, as opposed to what we've been "enjoying" up here:) Nice to know you are back safe and sound. Bet Lindy is ecstatic!
zoo keeper or what? taking the leopard for a WALK.
These are marvelous! I want to walk a cheetah!
I'm so glad to hear from you. You've been so quiet on line that I was beginning to worry. Glad you had a wonderful trip.
Glad you both are home safe and sound. I am looking forward to seeing the pictures of your trip in the following weeks. Nice that you got to see the panda! But is that a leopard going for a walk? I don’t think a leash would stop it from running off, if it wanted to.
One time in my life gone by (with an ex-husband) we stayed at the Del Coronado. We got a room right under that red peaked roof. I remember the bathroom was almost as big as a normal hotel room. He made a fuss about our room, and that's what they gave us so we wouldn't walk out at 10:00 at night. He was quite the talker. - Margy
@ Penelope — No, it's a cheetah. And it is following its best buddy, the white dog. They were raised together and are inseparable. We saw them playing together later, and it was wonderful.
