Canet Plage — this is the BEACH, Baby!

Do you remember back in old L.A.
When everybody drove a Chevrolet?
Whatever happened to the boy next door –
The sun-tanned crew-cut all-American male?

Beach Baby, Beach Baby,

                               give me your hand
Give me somethin' that I can remember,
Just like before we can walk by the shore

                                    in the moonlight
Beach Baby, Beach baby,

                                there on the sand
From July 'til the end of September
Surfin' was fun, we'd be out

                            in the sun every day

Do you remember back in gai Par-ee
When monsieur drove a Renault BRV?
Whatever happened to the boy next door –
The mustached, long-haired, all-Parisian male?
Beach Bébé, Beach Bébé, donnez-moi votre main,
Donnez-moi quelque chose que je me souviens,
Just like before we can walk by the shore au clair de lune
Beach Bébé, Beach Bébé, there on the sand,
From Juillet to the end of Septembre.
Surfin’ was fun, we’d be out au soleil every day.

With apologies to my French-speaking friends who tell me Google Translate does a terrible job!

We took these photos in April, 2011, during our wonderful March/April European vacation.

Posted for Thursday Theme Song hosted each week
by Hootin' Anni her very self! Thanks, Anni, it's my favorite meme.

I think Google translate does a terrible job with any language. I had many good laughs already!
Ah the beach... I'm so glad that we live so close to our rather wild beaches.

Despite some ignorance about this lyrical composition, I gather you are in a jolly mood. The sea, beach, waves, and breeze can do that...make us sing! The pictures - appealing as always. Thanks for sharing!

Oh yeah, I would love to cruise over to that beach in a Chevrolet. I had forgotten all about this song, great choice Kay.

Google Translate leaves a lot to be desired, I've tried it with Spanish.

We sour grapes used to say, don't I won't go to Paree, the men's short, and they don't bath.

I haven't heard this song in forever and your photos are excellent. I'm so partial to beach shots. I love these. And Kay I have to tell you I'm a crappy picture taker. You notice I don't say photographer because I'm not LOL And most times I just get lucky.

I don't know this song at all, but I love the pictures makes me think of holidays at the beach !
It's true Google translates English into such a good French that you would think it's chinese ! The same in German or Italian, it's a catastrophe ! Sometimes just for fun I type and english text, let it translate into French (or German) and then back to English. To my surprise I was sitting on the computer and my cat was blogging !
