These photos were NOT taken in the south of France.
I had to listen to several versions of this on YouTube before I found one I approved, because this was a big hit when I was a teenager. Hard to believe I was ever that young!
We took these pictures on our December, 2010 trip to Hawaii. I kinda thought the guy in the top and bottom photos looked like Jan or Dean (or a stunt man for one of them).
According to Wikipedia, the song Surf City was first written by Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, who later helped Jan and Dean finish it before they recorded it in 1963.
The Beach Boys recorded the song at a later date.

What a good one. The water looks wonderful.
Cheers from S.E. Ontario Cottage Country!
Love those waves and what terrific captures, Kay! Does look like Surf City to me! Have a lovely evening!

I've never lived in a place where the water made waves suitable for surfing. But I admit to remembering the Beach Boys. :)
IT'S GOTTA BE FUN! The song, Surf City...rolls just like these waves, and goes very well with the pictures. Also, have to admire how effortless some people make surfing appear.
forget the surf, can you fit a date for me with the surfer? LOL
It was after school, I was giving the girls a ride home. I see two younng hunks across the road collecting for Red Cross, I whistle but they didn't hear me.
Beautiful and perfect photos for that song. Really enjoyed them :)
ROFL at Ann's comment. There are some muscles on that guy!
Perfect song to go with your photos Kay, I loved Jan & Dean way back when. I've got a water in this week's post too.
Lovely young man! Ooops sorry, forgot I was supposed to be looking at the surf and listening to the music!!! xxx
A happy day starts with so beautiful post! Merci!

Wow! and you let him get away Kay!
What's not to love about a surfie?
Fantastic photo....eye candy in fact!
But the most of your post is so much interest...I didn't KNOW that about Brian Wilson and Jan and Dean.
Well done.
He certainly doesn't look bad from the back. Great choice of photos for the song (or song for the photos of course)
yes, with that surf, i figured it must be hawaii!
eye candy indeed!
I'm lovin' his muscled back ;)
