Watery Wednesday: parties with water

One of the things I miss most about the west coast of British Columbia is my family. My brothers, nieces, nephews and the children often get together for an afternoon of fun, usually involving some sort of water, whether it's a pool, a river, or an ocean.
Then they send me photos of the "having a wonderful time, wish you were here" variety!

These photos were all, as far as I know, taken by my sister-in-law Maria, the first two at a pool in Langley, BC, where she and my brother Clint live; the third at Derby Reach, a popular fishing spot on the mighty Fraser River; and the final one in Vancouver during the Olympic celebrations in Feburary, 2010. (I don't know the people in the last photo, but the rock statues are called Inukshuks.)

Hi Kay, I know how you must miss the water. I love the water but even though I live nearby I seldom get there! It is a pity, really but I just like the idea that I am close to it ;-)

I can relate to that Kay. My whole family is in the Philippines and the words "wish you were here" sometimes makes me cry or laugh depending of what kind of day I have, lol!! Happy Wednesday!

I know the feeling of being a water person inland, like a beached whale. I am only an hour and a half from the ocean but it is TOO FAR!!!!!! I have wanted my very own rock Inukshuk for DECADES!!!!!!

I can't think what I would hate most; living away from family or living away from water. Family actually have the edge, but I don't know how you do it xxx

Water is always attractive.sometimes it's a waterfall, sometimes it is the sea or a lake. Well you have seen how much water we have in the Netherlands! I can understand how you miss those family reunions now. Thanks for sharing and for visiting too!

I'm sure they're all missing you and just trying to entice you to come and join them.

Water is lovely and beaches are too; just imagine sea shells and the scent of ocean. It is really something to miss. Hope you see it soon!

Great photos, Kay!! Looks as though you and your family have a wonderful time when you get together. Am visiting you from my other blog today. Thought you might like to pop in and go for a stroll through the forest with me! ~karen (kaholly)

It is trying when not living near ones children. Sometimes it has its advantages, They sure look like they are having fun by the water.

Beautiful BC! What would we do without pictures to keep in touch when we're elsewhere?
