Shadow Shot Sunday: baseball shadows

No, we didn't have tickets for the World Series, but we did have them for the first World Baseball Classic played in San Diego, California, in 2006.

This photo at Petco Park has enough shadows for several baseball games.

Like amazing beams of shadows! And the game looks as if it was a sell-out!

We know that outfielders have a challenge in not losing the fly ball in the sun. But what of the shadows? These are so massive that finding the ball in the shade may be somewhat of a challenge. However, they should catch them - professionals they are, sun or shade...

We used to love to go to San Diego when we lived in SoCal. We would fly our plane down to Lindberg Field and catch the trolly to the Gaslamp district. Walking was also a great way to get around for us since we didn't have a car. - Margy

Are more people in the light or in the darkness in this photo?

SHADOW SHOW

Shadows creeping through the land,
Shadows dark on every hand—
If they should begin to glow,
You had better run, you know!

I love both the perspective and the light and shadows in this shot. The sun's ray seem to be spotlighting the players.

Great shadow shot for the week!
We watched the last game of the series last night - good to see the underdog win.
Happy Hallowe'en!

Those are big shadows! There must be some very tall buildings next to the stadium.

your photo reminded me of how wonderful it feels to step out of the tunnel into the stands and be greeted by the beauty of Yankee Stadium (the old one)
I used to take my son to games all the time, we'd arrive for batting practice and stay all day
