Succinctly yours: resplendent?

Once a week, Grandma's Goulash contains a question: "How low can you go?" —a blast from the past for anyone who ever tried to dance the limbo.
In this case, however, it asks how succinctly we can write something inspired by this photo, and, if we're very good, can we include the bonus word chosen by Grandma's daughter who hadn't seen the photo.
As we are offered a choice between writing 140 words or 140 characters including punctuation and spaces, an 11-letter word might be a real challenge.

Mrs. Low, resplendent in her new blue suit, was confident she'd be able to catch the shoplifting suspect, by using her trusty walking stick.

140 characters, counted by Design 215.

Yes, a walking stick is a fine crime fighting weapon.

I hope she can, Kay. Those shoplifters are getting out of control.

Kay,
1)I’m glad I got onto Grandma’s after accessing you. I used to like Susan’s Microfiction before but is now discontinued. Grandma’s offers better as besides a photo there’s a word prompt and we have a choice of 140 characters or words. I’ll start to go into Grandma’s shortly. Thanks!

2)Obama inheriting Bush’s woes is a relevant point. Now he has also to grapple with the economic woes not just of the US but Europe as well. Not an enviable job, yes! And I hope he’s reelected to finish his program!

I hear you, Mrs. Low! I, too, walk with a cane. On the days when I'm feeling sorry for myself about how crappy that is, I remind myself of all the "perks." That is to say all the many other ways a cane can be useful. My personal favourite: it makes the perfect weed wacker if you turn it upside down and swing it!

Oh, I can see that happening for real. It's funny, but it also shows the anger of those who have seen a decline in values over the years. Nice, Kay!

I'm picturing a James Bond-esque lady here with perhaps a special weapon hidden in that walking stick! Who would suspect?

You go, Mrs. Low. I just love it, when the older generation gets the upper hand.
