Shadow Shot Sunday: Alberta places

My dog Lindy helped me show our Dutch friend Mara the sights in Alberta for a couple of days. We had a wonderful time, and Lindy has decided she likes staying in pet-friendly hotels. Thanks, Best Western in Airdrie, Alberta — Lindy loves you!
Near the Bow River
and beautiful Bow Falls.

Mara and Lindy at Lake Louise

By the suspension bridge over the Red Deer River, south of Drumheller.
Lindy in Lullaby Land, wherever she happens to be.

How wonderful that you and Lindy got to show Mara (all the way from the Netherlands) some Alberta sights, Kay. It looks so pretty there by Lake Louis. I must drop by Mara’s site and see what her perceptions were of the visit. :)

I think you could well find me on your doorstep one day, looking for the guided tour. Looks a beautiful part of the world, especially as where we live is very flat, not even hills xxx

Terrific shadow shots for the day and it does look as though you, Mara and Lindy have a great visit! I haven't been to Lake Louise in a long time, but remember it as so lovely! How fun! Hope you're weekend is going well, Kay! Enjoy!

Lindy sure had a trip to remember. And I bet she was dreaming all about it.

I have a funny pet friendly hotel story. Our good friend John was helping Wayne out on a kayak trip to Vancouver Island. John would drive the car to drop Wayne off in Ladysmith and then recover him in Nanaimo. The trip would require an overnight stay and John doesn't go anywhere with his dog Bro. Wayne made the reservations and they asked what kind of dog. Wayne was worried they wouldn't like a big lab, so he said something like middle sized. John rarely stays in a hotel/motel, so when they checked in he looked at the doggy bed and tiny milk bone for Bro. He remarked that dogs over here must all be pretty small. They had a restful night, but someone tried to steal the kayak off the top of the car. Fortunately it was locked in and the racks were really sturdy. - Margy

You and Mara had a lovely day with fine weather, hadn't you?! For a couple of days we have had sunny weather and the beaches were even crowded. This makes everybody happy, for our summer had been cold and miserable. Have a great weekend, Kay!

Lindy os a perfect guest, we all wish her a great stay - as we all wish that every hotel make the effort to accept Lindy as a guest...

Lindy is also a great tour guide! Her instincts keep everybody on the task, a safe tour she provides. With her work complete, the nap was so well deserved!

Canada is one place that is filled with so much beauty to see. Even the shadows are stunning.

Great shadow shots Kay. That is a pretty area, it looks like a great place for walking and exploring.

I love your shot of the Magpie, he looks very proud of himself. I caught one not long ago in a live trap while I was trapping feral cats. He was quite happy when I set him free. Maybe next time he'll think twice about eating kitty food.

Excellent shadow shots. They are so relaxing. Hence the last picture of Lindy (with the cute pink collar and leash in lullaby land) is a fitting end. Thanks for sharing.

I envy creatures that can bed down wherever they are for a quick snooze!

FOR LOVE OF SHADOW

Tell your shadow that you love her,
Spurn your shadow, if you dare.
Keep your shadow out of darkness,
Keep her in the sun’s harsh glare!
