"The Lady and the Lamb"

Sounds like it could be the title for a new poem!

BITS OF SHADOW

Bits of shadow and blasts of light,
Morning and evening, noon and night;

Days of darkness, gloomy and drear;
Sometimes bright ones, bringing good cheer;

Spring or winter, summer or fall,
Light or shadow—embrace them all!

The shadow actually shows the amazing detail and symmetry of this statue. One can make out the nose, lips, and the fingers of the woman in the shadow. Amazing handiwork!

A beautiful statue. I loved St. Petersburg but wasn't there nearly long enough - about 16 hours while cruising. It is a magnificent city and we ended our day seeing a folkloric show.

My Camera Critters is part of a day in San Francisco post:

This is beautiful! Both the statue and its shadow are appealing.

And before I started this comment, but after I had clicked the comment link, I spied your Amber Room post. That was a bit of creative hair-splitting, and the results are amazing!

Awesome photo of an equally gorgeous statue.

The piglet offers a caring look to the lady who has perhaps saved the little guy from an unsavory fate. Maybe that is a fable, but this shadow is excellent!

The statue is lovely and it made a great shadow. If you look at just the shadow it could be a mother and child.

Instantly I thought of the expression..."The lion lays down with the lamb"! This is a magical shadow with an aura of sacred serenity!

Ooooh! This is such a gorgeous photo, Kay. It's still crazy at our house.

Nothing more exciting than having unplanned for week-long guests after returning from a two-week long “vacation.”

We're looking forward to our lives returning to some normalcy in about a week. Then we'll be planning for our trip to Chicago. Yikes!
