Watery Wednesday: St. Petersburg, Russia 2

© Photos by Kay Davies and Richard Schear, August, 2011

One of the tours on our Russian holiday with Viking River Cruises wasn't a shore excursion, but a trip through several of St. Petersburg's smallest canals, then out onto the Moika River in a boat with a local guide. We had a very different view of the city this way. Dick always had his camera ready.

I find this running theme of "Watery Wednesday" very interesting. The contrast of the soft, still waters agaisnt the hard structures is impossible to miss.

Canal boats are just wonderful -- I would love to take a vacation on one -- (England probably)...the speed suits me! Beautiful scenery on your 'exotic' canal. Thanks for sharing.

I love taking trips on the water. You see things in a completely different light and sometimes a lot better than from shore!
