A new showcase for outdoor artists

The Canadian plein air (outdoor) artist Aleta Karstad, whose blog has delighted me for some time now with the delicacy and detail of her paintings, has announced she is starting a new blog to showcase conservation-minded outdoor painters from around the world.

Aleta Karstad is a dedicated conservationist who believes artists can carry the message of conservation in a unique and very special way.

She has asked followers of her regular blog to help her spread the word and I am happy to be able to do so. The combination of art and conservation is a natural to my mind, and I hope others will share my opinion, and the link to

"Special places," as Aleta calls them, are some of the most beautiful parts of our world, and many are under threat of destruction, but can be saved if interested people work together.

If you can, please share the above link to help conserve such special spots.
