Pink was the skywatch color in Cold Lake, Alberta

There weren't many people around during Dick's walk to the wharf, but those who were there were fishing.

Autumn skies over the water in Cold Lake, Alberta, with a lovely pink tint at sunset.

Dick had business in the Cold Lake area, and he stayed nearby on this trip up north in the fall of 2010, giving him an opportunity to spend some time outside with his camera. Perfect for Skywatch Friday!

This young fisherman had just brought in a fish when Dick came along.

A wonderful pink, so soft. Promises... this lake area is fantastic. People are so lucky to go fishing there, even so it looks a bit cold for me.

I used to spend holidays with the ex-in-laws in Calgary, and I KNOW about that cold. When family relations got too hot to handle inside the house, going outside was really not an option. It was so cold a person could DIE out there, so I stayed and learned how to deal with those Dutch tempers.

Just thought you'd want to know, lol.

Beautiful photos. I hope you warmed up right away.

Hi all -- Dick tells me I made a mistake, so I fixed it. In my head "last year" still translates as 2009, but his trip to Cold Lake was actually in the fall of 2010. Oops.

That's what I call a perfect sky. Just enough clouds to capture some color but the promise of a blue sky day.

Those fishermen...I don't think much stops them from enjoying their sport. I should know...I'm married to one!

And we loved the Oregon coast!!

Would you believe I lived in Cold lake for almost a year, and my daughter was born there in '84 (we left the following year). Small world!
hope you had a great New year's Kay!

Hi Kay, I miss you too, you wonderful posts and stories! And I miss blogging too! I wish I have enough strength to post once week and visit my blogging friends.

Love the pastel colors of the sky. I bet it was wonderful to watch.

P.S. I just had a body massage tonight, I hope it will make me feel better. I will see you around.

One thing about Canada is that you can't go very far without seeing something from Tim Horton's. Your fisherman proves that. Nice capture.

Kay that was beautiful ! I am so missing a sunrise here that is colourful .. nothing for weeks on end and probably not until maybe March the way the sun and sky behave here in the Twilight Zone of Kingston.
We just got a load of snow here as well so we are tucked in for the rest of winter.
I love PINK and that was just right !
