B is also for birds - coming back to Alberta!!

This is so exciting! First, I heard birds two days ago. Then, Dick saw these sparrows yesterday!

But late this afternoon, Dick and Lindy went for a walk and saw starlings and Cedar Waxwings!

This must be a pair of Cedar Waxwings. I can see the yellow feathers at the end of the tail on one!

Don't they look wonderful against today's blue sky? No snow on the trees now, but do you think those might  actually be buds? No, it's still January in Alberta.
I've never posted twice to the same meme on the same day, but when Dick gave me the memory card from his camera, I just knew I had to do this. There won't be another B day for six months! (And then, hopefully, it won't be winter in Alberta any more.)
The snow on the ground is starting to melt, too, but very gradually. Lindy comes in wet instead of snowy, though, so that's a good sign. I'll put up with Smell of Wet Dog if the snow goes away.

My second post today for ABC Wednesday's B day. Sigh. I hope I'll be forgiven.

Kay, you are not in need of forgiveness. You're in need of a big thank you! Stunning sky and birds are always reason to celebrate. January is so long and horrifically cold, we need this to keep our spirits bright.

Birds, that must be a welcome sight. For me it means that some of my favorites will be leaving soon though many are here all year.
Bicycles are another of my favorites and I need to get mine out and go for a ride now that we have some nice weather. Alas, it's not to be as we are heading out of town again. We get to play with Michael while his parents get a little R & R.

What great shots of those birds. I love each picture, and that blue sky background is excellent.

I love Cedar Waxwings. I have only seen one in my life and unfortunately that was after it had flown into a window.

What beautifully clear pictures. Looks like you're getting hints of spring ahead of the season!

I think Cedar Waxwings are so beautiful. We don't have them here, and I don't remember seeing any in Illinois where I grew up.

I can feel your excitement, Kay :-) No wonder you needed to post twice for ABC. It is so lovely to see birds busy in the trees and garden, isn't it?
I like 'borken' too - those misspellings leap off the page for me, which can be irritating sometimes.
I love the rule that nothing is allowed to be touched on Fernandina - I wish it were universal!

What a beautiful blue sky, and those little birds are so cute.

They look like buds on the trees to me, early Spring do you think.

Great to see the birds and I love the waxwings against the blue sky. I've seen flocks of waxwings recently.

I've posted twice on one letter too, thought it was Friday when we went to Grime's Glen and I decided the Letter G needed another post. (I couldn't wait six months either.)

Love the birds. Once I don't have so many cats around to threaten their existence, I should like to try and attract.

Spring is on the way and cedar waxwings are one of my favorite birds EVER! Hooray.

Are those buds? They are telling me that they are getting ready for Spring!

So many birds, what a celebration!
