There weren't many people around during Dick's walk to the wharf, but those who were there were fishing. |
Autumn skies over the water in Cold Lake, Alberta, with a lovely pink tint at sunset. |
This young fisherman had just brought in a fish when Dick came along. |

A wonderful pink, so soft. Promises... this lake area is fantastic. People are so lucky to go fishing there, even so it looks a bit cold for me.
Luna is wondering if fish from this lake tastes yummy... :)
God bless you!

My mom love your sky photos
I love your young fisherman photo ...No..Speak the truth , I think I just love that fish on his hand : )
Dedicated people those fisher folks! And those sky watchers too. Thanks to Dick and to you for sharing; beautiful pinks.

I love the pink sky and shots of the people fishing.
I used to spend holidays with the ex-in-laws in Calgary, and I KNOW about that cold. When family relations got too hot to handle inside the house, going outside was really not an option. It was so cold a person could DIE out there, so I stayed and learned how to deal with those Dutch tempers.
Just thought you'd want to know, lol.
Beautiful photos. I hope you warmed up right away.
Thank you for sharing this pretty pink sky with fans of sky watch, it might be cool but sure looks a treat.
Hi all -- Dick tells me I made a mistake, so I fixed it. In my head "last year" still translates as 2009, but his trip to Cold Lake was actually in the fall of 2010. Oops.

That's what I call a perfect sky. Just enough clouds to capture some color but the promise of a blue sky day.
Beautiful shades of pink, it all looks so peaceful and relaxing. But also cold!
The sky is pretty in pink. great photos. Happy skywatching!
So subtle and so beautiful. I'd love to catch a fish in that spot!
Beautiful photos, I love the soft colors in them. Cold Lake looks like it's aptly named!
the second photo Kay is so nostalgic... love the soft color... as always great to be here...Have a great time..
I've heard so much about Cold Lake, and known people who lived there, but have never visited. These are lovely shots.
A lovely series of photos...and the lake certainly does look like it lives up to its name!!!
Those fishermen...I don't think much stops them from enjoying their sport. I should know...I'm married to one!
And we loved the Oregon coast!!
What gorgeous colours of the skies!
Would you believe I lived in Cold lake for almost a year, and my daughter was born there in '84 (we left the following year). Small world!
hope you had a great New year's Kay!
The pink tinge is so wonderful, great series.
Beautiful sky (and lake) watch!
Soft muted colours, very beautiful.
Wonderful soft pastel colors. Every now and then our sky will look like this. I always savor it because it looks so peaceful and quiet.
Hi Kay, I miss you too, you wonderful posts and stories! And I miss blogging too! I wish I have enough strength to post once week and visit my blogging friends.
Love the pastel colors of the sky. I bet it was wonderful to watch.
P.S. I just had a body massage tonight, I hope it will make me feel better. I will see you around.
One thing about Canada is that you can't go very far without seeing something from Tim Horton's. Your fisherman proves that. Nice capture.
beautiful sky photos

What a lovely walk with these soft pink skies... lucky Dick. And what a sweet shot of the fishermen. Hope you're feeling on top of the world, Kay... so the two of you can enjoy a good weekend together. Hugs.
I love those lovely pinky colours! This sky looks a lot better than the dark threatening one in my post. Thanks for the kind comment.
Beautiful pink sky, Kay - the sort that makes one stop and stare. Lovely :-)

Have a happy weekend, Kay****
What a beautiful pink sky. It does look cold over there.
It's such a wonderful feeling to look at that sky. You can almost feel the chill in the air.
Kay that was beautiful ! I am so missing a sunrise here that is colourful .. nothing for weeks on end and probably not until maybe March the way the sun and sky behave here in the Twilight Zone of Kingston.
We just got a load of snow here as well so we are tucked in for the rest of winter.
I love PINK and that was just right !
Joy & the boys : )

Thanks for your visit--wishing you the happiest of new years!
