Succinctly yours...fabricate

“How low can you go?” asks Grandma
at Grandma’s Goulash about her writing meme
Succinctly
Yours.

Use her picture to prompt a story of up to 140 characters or 140 words. Use the word of the week, if you can, but it is optional. This week’s word is 'fabricate'.

Criminals could fabricate evidence, Holmes knew, but there was no evidence of any evidence-fabrication here.
108 characters by Kay Davies, including spaces and punctuation.

My husband's contribution is even shorter:
Holmes could find no clues, even though he checked the stained fabric eight times.
82 characters by Richard Schear, including spaces and punctuation.

to succinctly meet Grandma's challenge, please click

I love the way you share this hobby. As I write my husband is underneath the car......again.

It was a good thing you had the 'pun' in italics, otherwise I wouldn't have spotted it immediately! Great contributions of both of you!

Lots of great word play here, Kay...nicely done, the two of you!
I must say I loved Dick's "fabric eight", and the (pun)ctuation. It's always exciting to read a different twist on the take. Clearly, your husband is an 'outside-the-box' kind of guy...and the world definitely needs more of those.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend...:)

Hi Kay ~~ Both are great! That means a GREAT TIE in my book for you guys.

You are the first I peeked in on. I think a lot will have Sherlock Holmes related µ-fiction today.

It is so cool that you both join in the fun. I am going to propose the idea to my hubby. Great takes, btw.

Nicely done, both. And I feel like a dunce. I read the second one three times before the bulb went on. LOL Time for a nap!

Kay, my first thought was crime, and then I saw something funny... Well done and way under the 140 marker!

Thank you for captions.

Unless, of course, Holmes is fabricating! Thanks for getting your hubby on board, Kay.

"Fabric eight". How I wish that I'd thought of that. Glad you've joined us, Richard.

Such fun twists on the image, detective seemed to be the big winner for this one.
