Our World Tuesday: a new outlook on life

I may have mentioned (I'm sure I did) I have a new window. It was ordered for my birthday at the beginning of the month, and arrived last week. A nice young man cut a hole in the door beside my desk, and installed a sealed window unit with built-in magnet-controlled venetian blinds. Ah, the ancient Venetians never imagined anything like this, I'm sure, and it brightens up the room considerably.

It also gives me a wonderful view of our ornamental crabapple tree, where the deer come to eat when the ground is covered in deep snow, which we don't have at the moment, so I've seen no deer.
On the right day (or the wrong day) I also
get a good view of the neighbors' dumpster
when they've put it out for pick-up.

Your view is perfect. I love to have a window view and a sense of nature while I'm inside. I have the mountain view.

So glad you got the window, Kay, the best present ever! Not only does it brighten the inside, it makes all the difference in the world when nature scenes are visible from inside a room.

A window in the room definitely brightens up the place. It is a wonderful birthday gift indeed. On the wrong days, you could always close the blind or curtain.

A new window is always good: both literally and metaphorically. Enjoy.

I know what you mean about a new window. When John added one to the downstairs bedroom it really brightened up the whole cabin downstairs. I'm so glad we did than during the remodel. If we hadn't I am sure we never would have cut a hole in the new wall paneling. - Margy

What a great birthday present Kay! I don't think a house can have too many windows. When you get snow (maybe we will get some before winter's over too) you will have a great view of the deer.

Oh lucky you, Kay! You get more light and you don't have to clean those blinds! Yae! That's a fabulous idea!

Great! A beautiful view of nature inspires to writing great stories!
I hope you and your husband had a great Christmas ! We went to have dinner near the windmills!! We walked and took the ferry. Well you know how it is overthere. I hope you'll have a great New Year's Eve. We always have a lot of fireworks and "oliebollen" ( kind of round balls tasting like donuts).

Don't you just love it to get an instant view and all that lovely light that a window provides? The deer compensate for the dumpster any day.

Love the artwork on your wall.

I reckon what we all need just might be a whole in the wall that blocks our view. Good onya!

Ah a perfect window on the world. Well, except for garbage day, but after all life would be worse without it.

Love the window -- and mildly envious of the automatic built-in blinds. (Make that more than mildly ;>)

I don't know what I would do without windows, and views, and light coming into the house. This sounds like the perfect birthday gift. Hoping you see more deer (and fewer dumpsters) soon!

(and thanks for your support - you know it means the world to me.)
