Visiting longtime friends at their comfy yellow house just outside my home town of White Rock, BC, I was struck by the contrast of light and shadow on their lawn and under their eaves. Small birds had emptied the feeder, but crows sat on a wire, hoping for the crusts of bread my friend Ruth and her husband Harmen often throw them.

Amazing how birds learn very quickly where they may find a reliable food source! Love this shadowy perspective of them playing the waiting game!
Crows are such opportunists! Instead of foraging as other birds do. They take from the smaller ones or beg from the humans. So we have to ignore the marauding and lazy crows, and instead admire the lovely neighborhood and your friends' nice estate and the beautiful day as well. Nice (except for the crows...)
great shot, love the birds on the wire.....have a great week
Is it still that green in your part of the world, or have frostier--or even snowier--days made their appearance?
MANY SHADOW-SEEKERS SAY
Many shadow-seekers say,
“Oh, the one that got away!”
Why are you so uptight, folks?
Can’t you take light’s little jokes?

Day’s End Shadows
Lots of pretty shadows while the birds are waiting for dinner.
Just look at those birdies on the wire! Waiting so patiently...evermore!
As I have bee walking lately, I also have been struck by the contrast of light and shadow. It transforms the forest and gives a different view of your friends' house as well!
You found the reflection in my post, it wasn't blurry eyes! I pray you will soon be able to see clearly again.
Great shot..birds on a wire...crows are persistent when seeking food
Such a beautiful shot! I love those birds on the line!
