Our World Tuesday: birds, snow, deer, Lindy

© Photos by Richard Schear
Above, a magpie digs in snow, looking for food. Below, starlings in non-breeding plumage sit under our crabapple tree. We never use the fruit, which is very small, preferring to leave it for wildlife to eat in very snowy weather.

Above, deer can be seen in our small town, or even in the city next to us, but are usually found near the coulees (below) when Dick and Lindy use the walking paths.

Above, Lindy wears her snow-boots now. One seems to be coming undone, but Dick keeps an eye on her, and picks up the occasional one that comes off.

Hi Kay! Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Love your photos. I think my favorite one is the 2nd to the last. It looks like it could be in a wildlife magazine!

BTW, thank you for your supportive comments on my Fibro post. You are too kind my friend.

Such a lovely snowy world you have and I do love all the critters -- and of course, Lindy - not a critter, but a great friend! Marvelous captures for the day! Happy Holidays!

What GLORIOUS photos! I want to come visit:) Snow boots are a great idea, must get some for Jas - her paws and legs always get matted with cold snow. Tho must say this year winter is getting off to a very late start. Maybe we wont get one? I especially love the beautiful speckled birds on your crabapple tree.......so beautiful.

Love the Starlings, and Lindy in her snow boots. Great way to keep her feet warm and dry on her Winter walks

Hi Kay! You are so fortunate to have the chance of seeing so much wildlife, whereas we in my country, only have the odd toad or hedgehog. Sometimes, if we are really lucky, we have a duck or two in the garden. Well you have seen it yourself! I hope that you and your husband will have a lovely Christmas. See you! Love, Wil

I think the starlings look quite festive this time of year! This is a great shot of the deer out and about.

What a great tour of the "great frozen north" of your world! It's just beautiful. And I adore Lindy's boots.

Beautiful photos, I love snow. I need to get Socks some snow boots, but he doesn't like cold weather anyway!

Snow boots...too cute! Love those exotic looking birds, too. Enjoy the start of winter (although I guess it's already started in your neighborhood).

How lovely with dogs, snow and those charming deer!

When Lindy has her boots on we know there is snow underfoot and the weather is getting cold. One deer looks majestic in the hills and perhaps a bit curious about what Lindy is wearing to keep warm. :)

How cute Lindy in snow boots !
You are so lucky to be able to see deers from so close.
Magpies we have "en masse" here ! Really a lot ! and they attack the cats ! They are not shy at all !

Such lovely critters in the snow. We seem to be going to have a green Christmas. Well, brown. Just isn't right!
Cheers from frozen, brown Perth!

Looks like you are having a white Christmas. We are still relatively warm, and not too much rain. Even had a sunny end of the day. Not sure Bro would go for boots. Did it take a long time for Lindy to get used to them? - Margy

The starling photo is amazing - and Lindy is looking quite svelte these days.
