We enjoyed traveling by train in Europe. It meant we got to our destinations with minimal fuss and practically no stress (once we got used to the process) and Dick had both hands free for his camera. These watery shots were taken between our "home" station, Perpignan, in Languedoc-Roussillon, and one of my must-see cities in France: Avignon. We passed an amazing amount of water on the way. At times there was water on both sides of the train at once, even though we weren't crossing a bridge.

Above, and below, between Bezier and Nimes. Unfortunately, the sign
on the lamp-post in the picture below just says "detour"
so it doesn't provide a further clue to location.

Great watery pictures. It is a long time since I travelled by train but I really enjoyed it :)
looking at water is fine as long as it's not rain!
Thanks the pics look great!

Oh wow! This is so cool. I don't think we've been on a train in Europe. It's certainly something we'll consider another time.
Beautiful scnes and captures!
Regards.

wow it would be great to have a plunge in there, mine is up and its here Mary Anne’s Musings, thanks
Wonderful watery photos! Glad your trip is going well!
that's the beauty of traveling, you get to take photos of everythign you see and expreience.
Looks like there is a lot of water in that part of France.
Family lore has it that Nimes was the town of origin for one of our colonial ancestors, Godfrey Nims, though there is no proof of this. That caused me to perk up when you said your route took you through that area.
beautiful captures all
love the 3rd pic the best
Who would have believed that ? water water everywhere (not a drop to drink) ...
Me and my mom love the 3rd photo , It shows lots of thing is going on : )
It's amazing how the water changes color. It looks very clean. What a thrill to look out your door and see a canal, as in the third picture.
we almost have the same photos, hope you can check it :)
The train trip must have been fun! It's been ages since I was on a train in Europe, but did take one last Fall from Quebec to Montreal and enjoyed it!
Nice Watery Wednesday pictures!
This is a beautiful area, no matter how you get to see it. But going by train sure gives you a different view of this beautiful countryside. We drove all over Provence while on a home exchange and we too, loved Avignon!!
Hope all is well. Hi to Dick!!
Love,
Debbie
that´s wonderful, isn´t it? So much water on ypur trip and the possibility to shoot it. :)
Beautiful water shots. I've had the experience of riding in a train with nothing visible on either side but water. Logically, I knew we were safe, but I confess I found it a bit unnerving.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope algorithms are a bit clearer now. :D
I agree - train travel in Europe is wonderful with the beautiful countryside rolling by right out your window. This looks like a very picturesque area.
Beautiful captures, makes me want to plunge and enjoy the water!

How fortunate you are to see Europe/France this way. A dream come true.
That is an amazing amount of water, Kay and makes each photo more romantic than the last. Thanks for sharing. (((hugs))) Jo
Great water scenes from France. I think I've been to NImes on a canal boat.
