A little yellow, or a lot, depends which Seattle piggy

Carrying on with the Seattle theme I started on Shadow Shot Sunday (hi, Sylvia!), these piggies are from our 2007 visit to Seattle. It was that city's second display of pig statues. The first was in 2001.
We were there to see the Toronto Blue Jays play the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field, and the colorful display of piggies turned out to be a bonus for our cameras. We often check the baseball schedule and plan a trip to Seattle followed by a visit to the Vancouver, BC, area to visit my family. We also timed our 2007 trip to be followed by a Holland America cruise to Alaska out of the port of Vancouver.

A little convention of piggies! Such great efforts have been put on this show!

We had the Cows on Parade in Chicago and even furniture. I loved seeing the animals more than the furniture. I'll bet it was a lot of fun to find as many pigs as you could.

Great pig sculptures. We had killer whales and eagles in Vancouver and I saw cows somewhere in Europe.

Your pictures of the piggy caught my eyes. We went to Seattle twice but before 2007, then in 2009 when we went on a cruise to Alaska we just spent the night so I did not see them. Are there more piggy than what you show? This reminds me of the bears I took on the Cherokee Indian Reservation in NC a couple of years ago – they had many decorated bears all over their town of Cherokee, here is the link if you’d like to see them: http://avagabonde.blogspot.com/2009/09/bears-on-cherokee-reservation.html

Pigs we didn't have yet in Brussels, but one year horses and one year cows. My neighbor bought one of these artworks (very expensive) and now the cow stands in his front garden and looks ridiculous, lol !

Very cool captures, Kay! Reminds me of a small city in Switzerland where there are dozens of painted bears all over the city.

How fun. We do something similar in our town, but with elk!

These are wonderful. I saw the Pigs of Bath a few years ago and spent so much time walking around the city searching for as many as I could find. It was a great way to see the city.
