A Canadian looks at US election results

Wikipedia photo
Over at the Imaginary Garden with Real Toads, Mama Zen has given us the opportunity to conserve energy as we conserve words, using no more than 20 to tell her the results of last night's US election.
*

The suspense
was quite tense
awaiting Obama
even in Canada
I’m glad to see him
(but wouldn’t want to be him)
*
Politics would be the last career I would choose, but I’m grateful there are people who put their lives on the line for the free world.
Barack Obama inherited a nation in debt, and many now blame him for creating that debt. What a dreadful position to be in!
People are even forgetting the USA’s great leap forward, the leap which occurred when “a person of color” stepped up because he felt he could do the world's most high-profile job.
His belief has now been proven to be right. The color of his skin has been forgotten in the everydayness of political struggle. He is truly “Mr. President”!

How happy I am to finally have a laugh on this side of the vote! Nicely woven, nicely rhymed, and very true. Me too.

Hear, hear! The courage and resolve to pit himself for the top job was incredible. Fitting for a second term! Nicely Kay!

I'm very happy too, but I still don't understand why anybody would want this job. Look at all his gray hair. It'll be silver by the time he leaves office.

I'm not one for politics either Kay...you capture a pertinent element of this dilemma though and in your commentary you touch on a good point about the leap forward...I agree.

I think his is a terribly lonely and difficult job--well said!

Another Canadian agrees. Completely.

Very nicely captured, Kay! I'd actually consider going into politics if there weren't so many skeletons lurking in my closet! :)

Nicely done! You know, I can't imagine why anyone wants that job, either.

I was so glad to see Obama/Biden win, as well as the new congresswomen, and see Akin and Murdoch bite the dust.

Love it. I too wonder why a man would want to take on a job again that was under a black cloud from the beginning.

In Europe it was the same ! All countries were happy that Obama had won ! There was a big party on the Grand'Place Americans and Belgians and other Nationalities who celebrated him ! I also heard that 90 % of the whole world was glad about the result. Apparently nobody except some old Americans and the Texans liked Romney

Glad other parts of the world were happy with the result of the election! I too wonder sometimes why anyone would go into politics--even on a local level it seems punishing.
