My husband's world, on his birthday in Paris

Now that we've had a short break from pictures of the Eiffel Tower, this post includes some Dick took on his birthday at the end of March, after he climbed to the second level (115 metres, or 377 feet).
His birthday? Oh, his 67th, and he still referees high school basketball and football "because it's fun".

Oh, that wide second-to-last shot is pretty impressive, Kay. It’s a beautiful horizon but the layer of smog seems ever present and also hovered over the area during my trip there last year. Funny … I didn’t realize until now that both your husband and my husband coincidentally arranged for a European trip that would coincide with their birthdays. Clever! :)

Ahh... Paris in the spring. Does it get better than this? I think Dick needs to come to Stockholm and take some views from Kaknästornet - not for the fainthearted or those with vertigo :-) Your man sounds like an amazing guy.

We didn't climb the Eiffel Tower, we thought about it, but my sister and I didn't feel like it! And the only photos we took of the tower itself had scaffolding on it! I think we might have to return to Paris someday and get some nice photos...

Good for Dick, having all that energy. No wonder he's dragging you all around the world! Great views of the city. I don't remember that lovely floral island, but we were there in the fall and I'm sure it all looked different.

Looks like a great trip overall. Can't wait to see where you were next.

These are breathtaking shots, Kay! Can't believe I haven't made it to Paris yet...must rectify that!! Being extremely fond of heights, I could stand up there and daydream for hours.

A belated Happy Birthday wish to Dick. I found Penelope's comment amusing about the husbands arranging these trips to line up with their birthdays...clever, indeed! And please pass on to your hubby my appreciation for a really fine set of photos...:)

Although I spent 3 months living 2 streets away from the Eiffel Tower when I was a student, I have NO head for heights, so didn't go up it. Now I can see a bit of what I've missed without having to get too dizzy!
