Avignon's most amazing camera critter is this balancing elephant, and I have read it is only temporary, that it was intended to be removed last November. However, it was still there in April, 2011, to see us.
You can see how big these critters and their lunches are by the size of the pigeon on the ledge below. |

I was quite smitten with this brown pigeon, who, in turn, seems to be quite smitten with the white and grey pigeon. I don't remember ever seeing a brown pigeon before. |

Thank you very much for sending so many purrs and headbutts to make us feel comforted and much loved.
Love that balancing elephant. Still balancing probably by popular demand. :-)
Oh, I love this post, Kay! I would have been right in there taking pictures of the same things. I love how the one pigeon is dwarfed by the over-sized artwork...a great way to illustrate scale!
I currently have a driveway full of pigeons, with a few males strutting about, tails fanned out in order to impress the ladies. We had neighbours down the street who kept pigeons. Inexplicably, they tore down the coops, sold their house and moved away, without telling the birds where they were going. The pigeons can't perch on our house as the roof is metal, but they've found a good source of food in the seed spilled on the ground from our bird feeders. They are multi-coloured and quite lovely so we don't find them a bother, though we go through bags of seed at an alarming rate now!
Enjoy your weekend, Kay...:)
Great photos!! Those animals tend to stand still. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
