Mellow Yellows in Halifax and Peggy's Cove

These tiny, sweet-faced violas I saw in Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, look like the little flowers called Johnny Jump-Ups here in Alberta.

This theatrical restaurant probably specializes in cod, a Canadian Maritime favourite. But don't ask me what
C B F U means, because I have no idea.

A pretty yellow house on top of the hill in Peggy's Cove.

Flags in front of the Lieutenant Governor's residence in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Peggy's Cove is one of the most photographed places in Canada.

We got to go to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland in Summer 2009. We made it to Halifax but not Peggy's Cove. Nova Scotia surprised me with all the fertile farm land. - Margy

Margy -- I rented a car at the Halifax airport and drove to Peggy's Cove. It's a long, slow drive once you leave the freeway, and so scenic you want to photograph everything, but there's nowhere to stop unless you pull into someone's driveway. Same thing going back, slightly different scenery: same road, different point of view, but still no stop'n'snap places. Sigh.

I want to visit the place sometime next year, hopefully if our budget permit us to do so. You have a nice set of Yellow collection there.
Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Lindo campo com violas, uma fartura de amores-perfeitos amarelos! Achei bem criativa a pintura do bar, a temática é bem original. Também fico feliz em ver fotos de lugares que não conheço, é com fazer um tour virtualmente, suas fotos evidenciam um olhar atento. Grata pelo excelente momento!

Vernz -- You're absolutely right. A video cam attached to the car would show everyone the views I had on my drive to Peggy's Cove. Brilliant. But now I'm home, and I might never get there again.
My husband, however, has promised me we'll fly to Newfoundland some day. I'm very excited about that.

Nice selection! That's quite a big yellow house on that hill. It would be easy to spot for visitors! Enjoy Thanksgiving Day!

Oh Kay -- we're going to visit up there someday, we really are! Lovely pictures. I enlarged the flower one to be sure, and those definitely are what I grew up calling Johnny jump ups. (In Eastern Washington State)....

That was a great fertile field of them.

And here I was, about to ask you about the meaning of CBFU! I have to think of something myself now: come bring food up, crown beautiful furry ugandese, cast bread for underlings? I am curious now though...

PS: lovely photos by the way

Aaaaack! This is so much fun! We were there! I remember walking up that road. It was a bit nippy, I think. Thank you for bringing back that memory. I had so much fun looking at your photos.

How beautiful Peggy's Cove and the other scenes are. Thanks for your kind and encouraging comments on my recent posts. This is my last visit from North Africa (sad!) I'll be online in South Africa in two days' time. Blessings and hugs Jo

Late to the party here... Nice series. A place I'd like to visit one day, Kay. Sweet violas, and that anchor shot is super.

[I corrected my post today... that roof was in Osaka, not Kyoto. That's what I get for posting at 6 am in the morning!]
