The big-eyed creature carved on a screen in the Hotel Posada Grande in Costa Rica is much larger than the carved person beside it!
The costumed characters on the left and below came out of the jungle night in the Mayan Riviera to show us what Mayan warriors were like. They were fierce!

Cool photos from your travels.
I was expecting your handicraft with the common or household pumpkin!
Very nice shots though.
@ Mara -- Sorry to disappoint you, Mara. My hands won't carve pumpkins any more, and my brother the artist lives on the west coast, so he's unavailable. Wish he and his wife and kids could be here, though, for some really great pumpkins and pictures.

Great photos of these carvings, Kay. Thanks for your regular visits to my blog. Yes, I wondder what your Lindy would do if she was here in my garden when my vegetables come up. Have a great weekend. Blessings, Jo
Good to pay a return nad visit your blog Kay. Costa Rica! Now that is somewhere I would really like to visit.
@ Phil -- You would LOVE the variety of birds in Costa Rica, Phil. They are hard to believe, they're so colourful.

Wow, interesting shots, I love the monkey:)
@ Jane -- Thanks, Jane. We have some clearer shots of this capuchin, but I chose this one for its sort of eerie Halloween look. The more I look at him and at that carving below, the more I suspect the carving is of a capuchin monkey. The monkey photo and the two bird silhouettes were all taken in Costa Rica.

love these shots.
well done.
Nice craving! =)
The carving is wonderful - what intricate work. The costumes are fantastic . I imagine the feathered costume is very heavy to wear but what an amazing sight.
Love the details of the carvings. Costa Rica is on my wish list!
Great shots! Love the little monkey.
