Watercraft of all sizes beneath a cloudy blue Alaskan sky. |
This looks like an eagle's nest built high atop an Alaskan evergreen tree. |
The big land of Alaska looks small here, between sky and sea. |

Good shots.
Ah, gray and grumpy skies! They do look familiar as they have invaded Seattle and the raindrops are beginning to fall! Terrific photos though, as always. You really capture the feeling of the fog, the water and skies! Marvelous! Hope you have a great weekend, Kay!

Beautiful and interesting photos Kay, - such a great expanse of water and sky.
"Between sky and sea..." So lovely.
Wonderful shots. Alaskan mountains shrouded in cloud is my favorite.
Wonderfully dramatic skies!
(So glad to hear Lindy is feeling better...)
Great shots, it does look chilly there, love the third shot.
In spite of the gray shades, those skies are beautiful especially how they play off the water. They really have a lot of depth too. Enjoy skywatching...
How pretty to see the different shades of the Alaskan skies!
The fog is creeping low, I hope there is good visibility for the ships.
Am imagining the air; fresh and crisp!
Since we've put a down payment down on an Alaskan cruise for next year, this was EXTRA fun to see! What an experience to look forward to.
Dear Kay, you and Richard are very skilled at photography, these ones are wonderful!
A fabulous adventure this trip, thanks for sharing!

I always appreciate misty grey skies - I guess because we have so many days of sun here in Florida!
The mist is just so lovely, so romantic, yet so mysterious... you really had a great time there...
thanks for dropping by.
It doesn't get much better than Alaska! Or Canada for that matter! Gorgeous country up there!!!
@ Tricia: Thank you! Alaska and Canada do have a lot in common.

Fabulous shots, Kay. Even under grey clouds the land looks magnificent. The sky and the sea are so immense - they really put us puny humans in perspective.
Beautiful SkyWatch posting!
thank you for sharing this beautiful photo work
Happy SWF! Have a good weekend,

Beautiful shots from Alaska.
Lovely Alaskan cloudy blue sky. Such an interesting array of pictures. Thanks for sharing the Alaskan pictures, I think that is as close as I'll get to Alaska.
Boats, clouds, fog and eagle's nest, all so beautiful and wondrous, thank you!
What a wide variety of skylines, my favorites are the ones of the mountains and the ships in the fog! I would like to go on a cruise to Alaska someday, it looks like a lovely place!
My favourite shot is the fourth one, with the clouds, and the mountains fading to purple in the distance!
I would LOVE to travel to Alaska!
Such fascinating glimpses of Alaska! What a beautiful dream to go there too!
My friend went on a cruise to Alaska. may be this is the boat she went to.
I love taking pictures in Alaska.
Of course, I love taking pictures anywhere, but Alaska is especially good.
What great shots of the Alaskan sky! Someday I'll get there! Have been to NWT and the Yukon - but never to Alaska. Would love to try a cruise there.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Great views from a intersting corner of the world, the eagles nest was a real find
Olá, Kay!
Como sempre suas fotos generosamente nos mostra lugares maravilhosos! Imaginava um Alasca com muita neve e ao ver estas fotos fiquei admirada em constatar um clima mais ameno... O lugar envolto nesta neblina parece mágico e encantador!
Saudações cariocas.
Wonderful shots, the fog is neat. I have been on an Alaskan cruise and loved it.
Want to go together, EG? Fog does add mood to a place. And I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't stretch into weeks and months as it sometimes can do in the PNW.
Now this is the trip I know my husband would really love to take...maybe I could manage one like this...amazing..
@ Rambling Woods -- I think maybe you could, Michelle. The scenery from the ship is wonderful, and the service on board is fabulous. Every effort is made to ensure the trip is as comfortable as possible for people with difficulties.
