Simple to say for ABC day, S=Snowboots
Photos by Richard Schear November, 2013
Lindy and her dad like to go for walks in almost any weather. Lindy has started to wear her boots some days now, to keep snow from forming ice balls between the pads of her feet. We haven't had a lot of snow yet this year, but it's snowing today.
I had no idea there are snowboots for dogs. When we lived in Ottawa for a couple of years, our boxer started to grow more hair on the bottom of her feet between the pads. I guess it was a natural adaptation to the habitat. Here we only need rainboots but our Lab loves the water anyway. No worries for her.
Oh, my. Snowing already? We've been having 70-80 degree temps here (which is a bit warm for my taste, in November!) I'm glad Lindy is willing to wear her boots. Smart girl!
It is that time of year again for Lindy’s shoes to come out of the closet. I am so glad she has them to wear in the snow! Funny how some folks neglect to think about the feet of their pets when they take them out for walks on icy and burning hot pavement. I think the deer must know how to avoid the worst of such roads.
I knew dogs (and other animals) sometimes had trouble with snow/ice between their toes, but this is the first time I've seen a dog in boots! Have a beautiful day! Lea
A wonderful post! I came to visit because I miss you ... and because I just channeled you a little while writing for a Poets United Prompt:
A friend asked me to create Just seven lines out of place And then bring them to this space Without Rhyme Zone just in case My ending rhymes have no grace. How should I proceed apace? Could you cheat with a straight face?
Beautiful pics, Kay. I love Lindy's boots. :) We've had a couple of inches of snow here, but nothing too much...thank heavens! It's always too early for me. I usually put Vaseline on Charlie's pads when we're out for a major hike in the winter and the snow doesn't stick between her toes. Bought her the boots, but she chewed them like a freak. Lindy's obviously much better behaved. :)
What an adorable dog. If only I live in a snowy place, I will definitely buy one for my dog. Anyway, thanks for sharing this cute experience. Have a more fun and adventurous travel experience next time.

Loving those boots!! May be needing some of those myself e'er long... Start saving Kay, I am sure your second visit is imminent &*>
Techo trubs continue so reading and commenting has to be done on borrowed time and equips. sigh.
YAM xx
I am not ready for snow!
What a great way to protect those feet! Great shots of your dog and the deer!
Such lovely babies!
Love the deer and am fascinated with Lindy's snow boots - are they home made Kay, or are they purchaseable?

Lindy is really stylin' in her fash snow boots!
She looks so cute in her snow boots - they are a brilliant idea for cold, cold climates.
Our old dog needs boot but doesn't like them. It is a bit odd to think about them with canines, isn't it but so useful!! Kate, ABC Team
