Man and the Moon by Andrew Wyeth used as prompt by Mag 178 |
bareback motorcycle riding
is best by moonlight
he thought, deriding
helmet, chaps and boots and all
sure that he wouldn’t have a fall
for what kind of traffic would there be
out here where no one else could see?
forgetting the moonlight
forgetting the danger
forgetting it all—
but, wait! a stranger man than he
was waiting up the road a wee
distance 'til the motorbike
came abreast, and then he’d strike...
when the run was done
without any fun
for the rider,
with bike at hand he got astride 'er
and headed for the nearest
doctor’s office where his dearest
wish was that his parts would be
sewn back where they used to be;
little did he know, the nurse
was nasty mean, and yet, what’s worse:
he had met the doctor before
and that was why he was so sore

Wow, Wyeth took you AND the motorcycle rider, on quite a trip! Good one, kiddo!
You tell a good poetic tale.

Oh nuts! Try to go out for a simple naked moonlight motorcycle ride and end up with Dr. Evil and Nurse Ratched.
Yeah, Spectra, it's a bummer, isn't it?
