I chose to choose many, but not all, linking them seemingly randomly but with an underlying sense of meaningless chaos.
confound
this killer addiction.
it has my nerves fraying
dangerously.
there are no new passages
in my diary now
the pages are unspooling.

but they are all deceitful
yes, they lie.

WOW! Fantastic, Kay!!!!!!!!! Really well done!
Nice job ... I can feel your frayed nerves!!!
You give just enough info to pique the interest and enough feeling to make it all seem very real.
Strong poetry here...but the words give me shivers!
Sometimes I feel like this, specially at the end of a long work day ~
What a cool piece! Excellent job with the list, Kay.
I love it Kay! The endless rant outlines the madness ;D
argh, this makes me a little queasy. very effective!
Dear Kay,
This comes from a place of knowing, or at least seems to. I spent many years working with groups of addicts and their families. This is, poetically, what I heard over and over again.
Happy New Year!

Wow. This is sharp, Kay. What I like is that the addict can't even tell the truth to his/her diary...says much about what he/she can do in real life...well done. :)
But the old diary passages are Hot!!!! Oh, wait....you weren't supposed to know I read them..lol. Great job Kay you took those words and molded them into a little piece of magic.
An addict even lies to himself in print...love your take on the list.
Very nice, Kay--you pared the words down to a very clean, knife-like series of images. I especially like the endlessly blinking end.
man, that "killer addiction" sounds like smoking to me ~ the hardest habit to break!
LOVE your poem!
may the new year bring you much happiness, love and laughter.
