from Marseilles to Barcelona
down to the south of Spain
Malaga, Gibraltar, to Tangier,
from Casablanca in Morocco,
up to Lisbon, Portugal —
where winter’s wet,
and summer’s dry,
the same biome we wandered,
where similar climates
cities do enjoy

where Hannah's Transforming Friday challenge this week is for us to write about one or more of the world's five Mediterranean Climate Zones. I have chosen an area represented on Hannah's map that stretches south from Marseilles, France.

Have you been to these places, Kay? They seem like they would be memorable!
@ Fireblossom — Yes, we've been to all these places, Shay, most of them on a Spain/Portugal/Canary Islands cruise, but we "discovered" Collioure when we were staying in the very south of France for a week, using Perpignan as a base for day trips as far north as Marseilles.

Always a joy to tour with you, Kay.
Apparently this year it's unusually cold there and they even had snow !!
I love the Mediterranean (climate and ALL)!
How cool that you've seen these places...I'm grateful for the glimpse of them through your poetic words and images you chose. Thank you Kay!!
I think I like the last one the best!
God bless you!

I love nipping along with you on your travels, kiddo. Such wonderful photos, steeped in place and history.
I too love the journey you bring us--usually with a few more words--and I thank you for your fine photrographer's eye.
...I could wander and linger in those places... sigh
Thanks for bringing us along on your travels ~ This is something I would like to do in the future ~
Your images took me back to my trip to Spain and Italy just over a year ago. Sublime!

Wow! To have traveled all these beautiful places. Thanks for taking me on this delightful word and photo journey.
I'll bet it was nice and warm then. :-)
