Succinctly, May 16, it's chili

“Time for supper.”
“I have to get these photos while the light is just right.”
“It’s chili.”
“Don’t tempt me. I’ll be in as soon as I can.”

Very ordinary words.
Ordinary English alphabet characters, but only 140 of them, including spaces and punctuation.

Posted for Succinctly Yours, hosted every week by Grandma's Goulash.
Grandma, who calls herself a well-seasoned senior, posts a photo prompt and gives us a week in which to come up with a story using either 140 words OR (here's where it gets to be fun) a mere 140 characters. She also encourages us to use, if we can, the word of the week, which is, in this case, "tempt"!
A tempting writing meme, methinks, so here I am with my first submission. To count the characters more carefully than I can myself, I use http://www.design215.com/toolbox/character_count.php

Well done, hopefully he got his chili before it got chilly!

Chili?! Did someone say chili?!?! I'd put sunlight on hold for a bowl of the stuff, right now. It's freezing, today, in my neck o' the woods!

Delicious take indeed!

Eating some chili for supper will help you rid chills from standing in that chilly air. :)

Nice! Hopefully the chili doesn't get cold before he gets to it.

Love it. I have been thinking about joining another meme and this one sounds great. Although I am not so good with the 140 characters...

Lol, I would be sooooo torn... :-)

Well done! I can't stay wordless on Wordless Wednesday, so I'd never be able to stick to 140 characters. That's why Twitter and I could never be friends. You get 4 times as many characters on Facebook updates, but it's still not enough! I think it must be by lawyer training getting in the way. Why use one word when fifty words sound so much better :-)

Wonderful, Kay. That guy no way will he sacrifice some good photos for something stupid like eating.

You are the first I've read but both of us have the guy tempted to do foolish things.

Sorry for the chill there. Chili will hit the spot. Mrs. Jim is heating a can of N.E. Clam Chowder for us right now. We just barely got out of the 80's today. My blog thermometer says 81°F here at 6 PM.

Perhaps it's chilly as well. What a man to withstand the temptation!

Good play on words - very clever!

Ah yes, and how many dinners have gone cold because the person who did not have to do the wretched cooking wasn't interested in the feelings of the person who did?

I sputtered my tea out with this one, Kay! Love the linguistic twist your mind wrapped around the prompt...:)

I think a lot of us may be having chili for supper tonight. This was one mouthwatering mf!

Hope she has the chili warming in a slow cooker! Sometimes we photographers get obsessive about the perfect photo! Well done, Kay.

Now that's fun! I'm off to look at some of the rest. I could use some succinctness. (And if you don't believe me just ask Bill!)
