Shadows in Carcassonne, France

© Photos by Kay Davies and Richard Schear, April, 2011

The mediaeval walled city in Carcassonne, France,
one of many beautiful places within an easy train ride from
the condo we rented for a week in Canet-en-Roussillon.

Beautiful photos from France - castles and shadows are a perfect combination

Wonderful shadows! The sun shone obligingly bright for you.

These views are classic, the real Old Worlde that we do not see in North America. Shutters that actually shut out the light and lovely stone facades. Fortified castles that are centuries old are a treat found over there. A great trip to Europe where the vies are really classic!

What a super medieval town to visit... especially for shadows! :-) My favorite is the lantern shadow on the black door.

The narrow, beshadowed streets in the top photos are filled with mystery and intrigue!

MY BLINGLESS SHADOW

A shadow’s an odd sort of thing;
It might have a nose or a wing,
A tail like a dog,
A bump like a log,
But one thing it has not is bling!

Ah, those wonderful French gods! They even know how to create the perfect light for the perfect shadows! And you caught them superbly! Love your captures for the day, Kay! Superb! Hope your weekend is going well!

These are fantastic shadow shots. I like the way you show us this old town.
We came along the Canal du Midi in this interesting area.

Oh these are all just too lovely...I am green pea envious! Thanks too for popping by my shadow shot and commenting! Yes, I love old weathered wood too. Those steps accompany my 100+ year old converted barn hubbie and I live in in the rural woods of New Hampshire.
See you next week,
Hugs,
Beth P

Great shadow shots! My absolute favorite is the shadow that the streetlamp casts on the dark door. But all the other ones are gorgeous as well - and of course Carcassone is just a fascinating place. You captured it really well.
