I don't know about you, Kay, but I still can't believe my eyes when I see the dates on some of these buildings. Like you, I come from a "young" country in terms of European civilisation and I've discovered that what I thought of as an old building back home is quite modern here. Look at that map of the city in 1523. My hometown didn't exist until 300 years later! Just mind blowing.

I'm loving hearing about your travels and seeing all of these historic town. I just love that photo of the half-timbered building. They look so Elizabethan and steeped in time.

We went to Normandy a few years back and visited Rouen - the cathedral is especially beautiful

I enjoyed the trip around Rouen, beautiful buildings. I've visited a couple of times but a long, long, time ago, and no camera, nice to revisit here.
