Shadow Shot Sunday: kids and animals, with shadows

One of the grandsons in Red Deer had a trip to this outdoor skating rink for his birthday.
Shadows followed the skaters everywhere they went.
Surrounded by shadows not far from our house, this wild rabbit isn't moving a whisker,
because it doesn't want to attract Lindy's attention.
Looking intently for the deer that weren't there, Lindy hasn't noticed the rabbit yet.

What cool ShadowShots. The skating rink brings back sweet memories of my childhood winters. Skating was a favorite sport in northern PA. Happy SSS!

Hi Kay!
Just came to your blog via Hootin' Annies. I just enjoyed seeing some of your posts! I have a picture of my grandson when he was 2 years old (now 15)next to that same gorilla in the San Diego Zoo.
Hope you stop by and give a look at my blog about my travels!
Have a fabulous day!

It's great fun chasing your shadow on an ice rink.. especially on an outdoor natural one like this! Both the bunny and Lindy look so sweet.

Thanks for visiting with me.

Shadows are so fascinating … and sometimes like a separate entity onto themselves! The animals are adorable, of course. But the teeny tiny shadows following the equally small skaters remind me of when Gulliver discovered the Lilliputians. :)

Well, you may not plant anything until May 24th but you have plenty to occupy and amuse. Love your photos, Kay:-)

A lovely winter scene...I fondly remember such afternoons from my years in Ontario. Love the photo of the rabbit, and of course Lindy is delightful as always. Her intensity is palpable as she's poised for the deer to arrive. My Meeghan looks the same in her endless quest to find squirrels in the trees!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend...

What a lovely scene the first photo is, with the shadows and the skaters.

Love the rabbit and Lindy, and Lindy's boots are way cute.

perfect shadow shots! I love the skaters and regret my ankles are now unfit for ice skating!

Kay, It looks nice and sunny at the rink if a bit cold, but obviously a great place to be for kids. It's also a very nice, crisp picture you have taken.

I haven't ice-skated for years, but looking at your photo of the skaters made me long to try it again!

A PARFAIT DAY

A seeker of shadows one day
Did trip as she went on her way;
She picked herself up
And dipped from a cup
Of shadowy lemon parfait!

You've still got snow all over the place, Kay, and I've got trees in full bloom, in spite of the torrential rains we've had the past few days. I've loved the bright yellow blossoms but I don't know the name of the tree on my header!

Lovely shadow pictures(the rabbit is very smart!). One of our d-i-ls was born in Red Deer -- I always loved the name and hope to get there someday....they live in Boulder now and she loves it much better than Oregon dreary and rainy. I think CO reminds her more of home.
