One of the many places we visited during our December, 2008, cruise with
Royal Caribbean was the lovely Portuguese island of Madeira. The island is famous, yes, for its wine, but also as a popular year-round resort in the north Atlantic Ocean.

Some of those are big shadows. Love the scenic beauty particularly in the first and last shots.
Fantastic, dramatic skies in that first photo! And love the following shadowed views! Stunning!
Now that looks like somewhere I'd love to visit! Beautiful photos of such a lovely location!

lovely series of photos, the last one is a wonderful view
The shadowy, ominous clouds about city and mountains make me want to seek shelter!
A SEEKER OF SHADOWS
A seeker of shadows one day
Asked shadows to come out and play:
“O shadows, my dears,
Despite all my fears,
I hope you will not run away.”

Subtle Shadows
The mountains and clouds seem to offer substantial shadows from the inside out. The look all around is of tall cliffs and massive clouds. The look of a rugged beauty that we cannot resist, a place for a great vacation!
I am enjoying your travel shots! Not as good as being there, but most certainly a distraction from what we have here! I'd love to have some Madeira in Madeira!
I love Portugal but have never visited Madeira. Your pictures make me see what I am missing. I must get there one of these days. Fabulous shots.
