Skywatch photo shows land between the snow

Yes, some patches of land between patches of snow! We've had a little bit of snow since this photo was taken, but only a dusting. It is now very, very cold (-20C, which feels like -30 with the wind chill) so my guess is Dick and Lindy won't be walking very far or for very long this afternoon.

When I was in Alberta one Christmas, I was pretty sure that the cold outside the well-heated house could kill me! Those are lovely, hopeful glimpses of clear ground in your photo.

Yes it looks cold!! The only thing that bothers Boom is the wind.So I look like the michelin man. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Wonderful sky, Kay! I love the moody, winter feel of this picture, best viewed from the comfort of my warm living room! We have an Arctic front blasting through the Lower Mainland, a bit of a shock when last week felt like spring...LOL.

Ooo .. that does look cold.

How about I warm you up by telling you that early tomorrow morning I fly out to a tropical paradise for five days? Yep, I am off to Lord Howe Island, which is not well known but just off the coast of Australia. Never fear, I shall have my camera with me, and shall bore everyone rigid for days.

But it will warm you up ...

Do not favor night over day;
They always look up,
The sky is their cup,
And keeping it full’s their cachet!

Beautiful sky and land. I like the way the landscape looks like a patchwork quilt.

That does look so very cold but the eye is lifted to the wonderful sky and the warm colours in it. Your winters are long and hard, Kay.

What a beautiful view, I love the colors in the sky!

As for getting to the Distillery District from the airport, you could take the GO bus from the airport to York Mills and then take the subway back down to Union and a streetcar or a little walk from there. It would take about and hour and a half if the traffic wasn't too bad. Not really much worse than getting anywhere else Downtown from the airport and the airport is pretty far out of town!

Gorgeous soft strip of sky there Kay. I don't think I've ever been in that kind of cold.
