My World a Few Tuesdays Ago

                                                                                   Photos by Richard Schear

When Lindy isn't watching deer or rabbits, she likes to watch youngsters sliding down the hills in the nearby coulees. This coulee has steps built into the side, so sledders and tobogganers can get back up reasonably easily. Lindy would have liked a sled for Christmas! After these pictures were taken, the snow in our area got very deep, but now it is melting, and the water is getting deep instead.

Great shots! Reminds me of when my kids were growing up in Montana and we did a lot of this sort of thing -- along with our dogs! Fun look at your world, Kay! Hope your week is off to a great start! Stay warm!

I bet the steps are really appreciated for those long climbs back up. I bet Lindy could get up them in just a few bounds. - Margy

Now that is my idea of an ideal sledding hill.

That looks like great fun! We have way too much snow for any good tobogganing at the moment though.

Lindy is gorgeous!

Beautiful winter shots in the snow. I love them.

This scene is no longer part of My World, but I did a LOT of sledding and skiing when I was a kid growing up in Finland. We never had STAIRS to get us back to the top, though... brilliant. Even shot from behind her, Lindy looks like she wants a go at it!

Thanks for visiting me, and thanks for kind words. Love your dog too, it is nice for a Norwegian to see a Golden Golden Retriever, In Norway, mine is amongst the dark ones, because the whole breed has turned white...
Have a lovely winterday. Greetings from Norway.

Great series of pics! Brings back lots of memories for me. Lindy certainly has that 'stance' that says, "Am I next?".

Thank goodness for stairs and sleds. This looks like a nicely sloping hill that would be fun to slide down. Great winter sport for kids and kids at heart who are looking for exercise. :)

Be careful of that deep water!

I have never seen a sledding hill with steps. Very, very cool!

Being from California, I feel cold just looking at these pictures. Snow is beautiful, but sooo cold. Looks like everyone is having a great time, though, in spite of the cold. Smart.
