'My World' was White Rock two weeks ago

Although I've been living in southeastern Alberta for 10 years now, I still go "home" to White Rock, British Columbia, to visit my family as often as I can.

Earlier this month, I left southeastern Alberta's snow-covered landscape when there was a blizzard in the forecast. It was wonderful to see spring had started busting out all over the southwest coast.

The bonnie bloomin' heather.

Tea with two fellow bloggers, one a dear friend of long standing, the other a lovely new friend.

Blue skies over White Rock, and a totem pole hiding behind the branches of a tree.
 Uh-oh....
...what's this ugly picture? On the highway heading south from the Vancouver airport, we saw dozens of bald eagles, but I couldn't get a decent shot as we hurried along in my brother's car. This photo is the best of a bad bunch, enlarged so you can see the eagle near the top of the tree on the left.

Posted for My World Tuesday hosted every week by the MWT team of
Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Sylvia and Fishing Guy. Thanks for the good work, team!

What a nice reminder of your visit to White Rock, Kay! Those tasty sandwiches were so delicious … and the blooming heather does give one hope of spring. Bald eagles are difficult to photograph at the best of times. I’d say you did an excellent job ... considering you were in a speeding car.:)

Looks like a fun place to visit. I like all of the shots including the last one. I like winter trees and cool that there was an eagle in one.

It is nice to have a second world to call home, especially when the climate is warmer! Some of your Alberta snow is reaching us tonight.

That was a perfect getaway! Loved all the pictures -- I could see the eagle's white head when I zoomed in. We have a alocal bald eagle nest and I've been trying without success to get them to pose.

White Rock is SUCH a pretty place, and there is often sunshine when the rest of the lower mainland is grey grey grey. I get to go there whenever I get back to BC as I have close friends living there, so it's a bit of my world too! Looks like you had a perfect little time-out from Alberta's winter wonderland, Kay.

I've been wanting to stop in White Rock for lunch one day, but the border crossings have been so busy lately I haven't been comfortable taking the time. Not sure why early afternoon on a weekday is so popular. Good thing you got out before the snows arrived. That would have been a bummer! - Margy

What a lovely change from the blizzard! I too would dearly love to meet some of my fellow bloggers but have just about as much chance of that than flying to the moon.
Getting good bird shots from a moving car? I salute your attempt!, and you did bag one showable shot at least/

That looks like a beautiful place, and the tea looks scrumptious! It must have been hard to return to the snow!
