The town of Consuegra, early in the morning, the day after Christmas, as we went to see... |
...the windmills, which my mind always associated with Don Quixote, and here I am!! |
It was still early when we left Consuegra, and an occasional Consuegran was out and about as we took to the road to head for Puerto Lapice. Posted for Shadow Shot Sunday meme Photos by Richard Schear and Kay Davies |

Kay, your photo with the windmills is really nice., I didn't see anyone around, You must be a morning person like my dad and me : )
Beautiful, fascinating travel shots! I love the strange feeling of an empty street space that is usually crowded with feeling! Quite eerie!
These shadows are impressive, be they on the buildings or on the hillside, Nice trip!
Lovely photos as always, Kay! I love the windmills! And such gorgeous skies! Looks like another fun trip you've made! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

I love these shots, the shadows are wonderful, but more than that I am enjoying seeing the places that you have been to.
I love your photos of this town! Looks it was a lovely spot to visit. The windmills make a nice backdrop for you!
Great shadows for the week!
Did you get a horse and charge up to the windmills?
How wonderful! I don't think we got to see any windmills when we were in Spain. We had to wait for the Netherlands for that.
Your travel shots are fabulous, so nice to see your beautiful smile in that picture with the windmill at background!
Hugs and a nice Sunday!

Well I'll be danged, Kay! I had to look up where Consuegra is... and then to find out it's in Spain, I went HUH? I've done a number of road trips in Spain, but never right smack in the middle! Lovely to see you with the DQ windmills (and that's a book I've been saying I want to read for three decades but keep putting off!)...
You look quite ready to tilt at the windmills!
Great photos! The windmills with you in Conseugra is wonderful!
Kay I would have been totally preoccupied with such thoughts about the wind mills as well .. that style is what I picture exactly !
but the windmills in the Netherlands and Belgium .. they are totally wooden clog back drops with their style : )
Love seeing the pictures and being reminded how lucky we were to live in Europe those years !
Joy : )
We visited four places on Don Q's route: Toledo, Consuegra, Puerto Lapice, and Las Lagunas de Ruidera. That was "my" day in Spain. All the literary days are mine, all the big art museums are Dick's. I like to sit and contemplate. He likes to put on plenty of mileage. LOL
Your smile say it all.
Beautiful shadows you have!
Shadow Shots , have a blessed Sunday
Wonderful shots, Kay. I like each of them! I should probably re-read Don Quixote, as I remember little of it...
I'm glad my post brought pleasant, if bittersweet, memories of your teacher; thanks for the comment.
Hello!
Interesting blog!
Beautiful shots!
Hi Kay, you are a world traveler, I want to visit where you went! Love those windmills!
Wonderful place to visit! did you want to re-read the book? (Or if it were in my case, read it for the first time/0
We all need a little Don Quixote in us LOL
Beautiful photos. Looks like a nice place to have visited. Thanks for sharing! I hope you have a chance to hop on over to my blog and tell me what you think! Feel free to comment on my Parenting Post as well.
Those windmills are glorious - so clean-cut.
Simplesmente lindo observar cenas de um amanhecer! E você, perto destes moinhos lembra uma total liberdade de escolha, tanto de novos rumos como de felizes acontecimentos.
LOVE those windmills!
