Restoration of Spanish church shows shadows

Beautiful shadow shots for Sunday, of a lovely church being restored in Toledo, Spain.
Dick took these pictures during a walking tour of Toledo on Christmas Day, 2008. I don't know about the whole city of Toledo, but where we were staying, everything was uphill, and then downhill again.  We did have a rental car, but by the time we had squeezed it into the hotel's underground carpark, Dick said he wasn't taking it out again until we checked out the next morning. So off he went, looking for food to bring back to me, but there were no stores open. Eventually, he found a souvenir shop that sold boxes of pineapple turnovers. So, for Christmas 2008, we had pineapple turnovers and water for lunch and dinner. The next morning our hotel had a lovely buffet breakfast waiting for us, however, so we squeezed the car out of the underground parking lot and went on our way, crossing the plain toward the Mediterranean coast.

Beautiful! The second photo's shadow looks like the Three Kings.

Pineapple turnovers and water for Christmas! Now THAT is a story! :-D Whenever something doesn't go quite right, you know, the sh*t happens kind, I usually make light of it by saying, it's all part of the story. When things go just perfect, who cares? Now I HAVE been to Toledo, but unfortunately it was pre-digital days and pre-decent camera days. So it's nice to go back to see it through Dick's lens and your words, Kay.

Lovely shadows, Kay! I don't think we've been to Toledo. It must have been a lot of fun to see those beautiful structures.

Hope you have a lovely week :)

At first I thought the statue in front of the church was also a shadow, making it a bit freaky! Turned out it was a statue. Phew!

PS: did you know you won?

My daughter visited Toledo with her cousins and grandmother in the summer of 2008. She brought back many photos of this beautiful town.

My favorite of your photos here is #3. I love the pattern of the shadows. I love your story, too. Pineapple turnovers for Christmas dinner. That sounds like the title of a great children's book!

What a beautiful church..I have to laugh at you saying that your husband drags you around. So did mine, but my MS symptoms got too bad to be dragged as I once was....

Kay if you change your comments settings in Blogger from the default of embedded to pop-up, it will be easier to post. I have trouble getting the embedded ones to show in FireFox so I have to use IE..you can still use the word verification....Michelle
